Free Games Online Could Be Dangerous For Kids

By Jenny Ortiz

Chances are if you are reading this you have children that spend time on your computer. I cannot begin to tell you how many times, my kids have downloaded one of their games on my computer and totally destroyed it. This article will share with you a few ways you can avoid this from ever happening to you, and save you hundreds of dollars in the process.

Most parents do not have a clue exactly what a virus or malware is let alone the dangers that come along with it. By the time most parents realize what is going on, it is usually way to late. In an effort to avoid such dangers many parents have began switching from PC computers to Mac's. The reason for this is because Mac's are rarely ever affected by such viruses. Although this is a great option, it is however an expensive one, and may not be an option for some.

Most kids online only see the shiny buttons that tells them to click here and they do. All they are concerned with is that they are getting free games online that they can play. The child is unaware of the dangers that they are inviting into their computers or in this case YOUR COMPUTER.

Once your computer has been tainted you run the gambit of loosing all of your personal data, such as your work files, photos, videos, everything. This is a sinking feeling when you go to use your computer and you realize it is not coming on. Virus companies charge top dollar for access to their virus database. All of this can be avoided by simply monitoring your child's online activities.

If you are going to let your children use your computer (and you should it is an awesome tool) you should make sure that they are only using trusted websites. I am going to share with you in a moment a site that offers everything from educational games to great mind teasers that are geared to help your child's mind grow.

Long story short... Do not band your child from the future by eliminating their access to the Internet. Instead take the time to education your child on the pros and cons of using this great technology. After all as I said before it is the future.

Maybe you like the majority of parents feel that you are not tech savvy enough to explain the pros and cons of the Internet to your children. If you find yourself in this category it is not your fault. With a little reading you can quickly catch up, and save the day. I am a firm believer in the saying that it takes a village to raise a child. It is that firm belief that has motivated me to share this information with you. In opens that you too will pay-it-forward. Share it with others, and help in the movement to save our children.
