Want A Stress-Free Wedding? Use These Tips

By Nancy Brown

Your wedding should be a day about you and your partner. Letting others get too involved in the planning process (even if they are paying for it) will only result in a day that doesn't reflect the two of you. This article has ideas on how you can make your wedding your own, and keep an eye on the budget at the same time.

There is nothing wrong with practicing parts of the wedding beforehand including the kiss. The kiss is one of the most memorable moments of any wedding and photographs of it will be kept for years. If you are getting married soon, you should practice to make sure it will be sweet and perfect!

Wait before making major wedding decisions. When you go to see a venue that you are sure you love, don't put down a deposit right away. Go home, look at a couple of other places, and make a decision then. Making impulse decisions can cost you more money and a lifetime of regret so make sure you think as much as you are able to.

It can be a great idea to provide your guests with direction cards from the reception site back to major highways. You can have these at the reception, so that anyone who needs them can easily pick them up. Not everyone has a GPS in their car, or can use mapping software. Having direction cards can help to make everyone's evening end well.

Don't bend to pressure from relatives. You may be tempted to go with family tradition or suggestions, but this is your day not theirs. Thank them for their concern and affection but firmly remind them that you and your spouse ultimately make the decisions. That way you can look back on your wedding day with no regrets.

Mother of the bride and any bridesmaids who are going to help you get ready should be ready well before the time for you to put your gown on. You should be the focus during the last minutes before the ceremony. If they have to worry about getting ready, they are not focused on helping you.

Starting to plan your wedding? Use resources like StumbleUpon to select your interests (weddings, of course) and look through blogs, websites, and idea boards such as Pintrest during your free time. You will find many great DIY ideas as well as some ideas you may not have thought of otherwise.

Whether your are the bride, groom or parent of the bride or groom, make sure you speak to everyone who attends the wedding reception. Stop by every table and make sure to greet everyone. This will help make everyone feel welcome and let them know you are glad they came.

Always do a practice run, if you are hiring someone to do your makeup for the wedding. If you are doing your own make up, stick to what you know looks good. Do not neglect your hands and fingernails. Be sure to cover them up with fake nails if you have horrible looking nails. They can be purchased from a drug store or done professionally.

To help make sure your wedding goes off smoothly you should give yourself enough time and plan early. Giving yourself enough time before the wedding will give you ample opportunities to make sure everything is just right. You don't want to leave the important details to the last second, otherwise it could paralyze you causing you to panic as your wedding day gets closer and closer.

No matter how large or small, your wedding is an event that you want to be perfect, right down to the smallest detail. Whether you're getting married for the first time or the third, a wedding still takes months of planning and preparation. The time-saving tips contained in this article can guide you in making the smartest choices and help you to avoid any last-minute emergencies.
