Byron Bay Blues Festival Fun And Festivities

By Byron Jonas

The Byron Bay Blues Festival or Blues Fest as it is also known is a five day annual Blues and Roots music fest. There is the capacity for 6,500 campers and 17,500 visitors over the entire stay. It is best to book early for a place as it gets pretty booked out in the local area where it is held around this time.

It is much easier to use a booking agent than to try searching for accommodation yourself for this event as it is so large. But this can be quite costly because booking commissions get added to tariffs. This is something to consider.

There are of course many places you may consider staying such as camping grounds, apartments and units, caravan parks, cottages, cabins to name just some of the places. Other places you might try are guesthouses, hostels or hotels. But what is available if you haven't booked well enough ahead may be sparse to say the least.

There are lots of enthusiasts who attend such as contractors, artists, stall holders, and many more. Media and reviews have been great about this fun event. It is now held at Tyagarah.

There is plenty of information about the fest available on the internet. Tyagarah Tee Tree farm is a working farm open most of the year. It is made up of 120 hectares of land. It is 8 kilometres south of Brunswick Heads and 11 kilometres north of Byron Bay.

There are four licensed bars as well as easy to access beer garden with a big screen. There are also six performance stages which you can watch Artists performing from easily. The beer garden also has a sit down area that is undercover for your relaxation and enjoyment.

There are a variety of food stalls to satisfy your hunger. There are also many types of market stalls there for your enjoyment as well. A children's childminding area proves to be popular every year. Beside the fest there is an area set aside for campers. This area has shuttle buses, toilets, a general store and showers as well.

The Fest is very accessible to get to because of the shuttle buses which run fairly frequently to the site. The festival has great free parking available as well and that is very popular and welcomed by many. Byron Bay Blues Festival is great fun for everyone and is an experience you will want to revisit time and again.
