Choose from the best MMA Gloves for better protection

By Alves Peter

MMA which is a short form for Mixed Martial Arts is a sport in which two players combat each in a six sided ring. MMA includes the usage of a number of techniques like Judo, Karate, Kick boxing and such others. In MMA players can use both fists and feet for a fight which is unlike the sport of boxing. Hitting and grabbing the opponent are some methods that players use in a fight. One thing that should be kept in mind is that MMA is not an Olympic approved sport and is not likely to ever be included in it. Killing a person was a usual thing in a MMA fight before but now it is a thing of the past. Since 1993 the UFC has implemented a lot of rules which has made the game more safer and more watched by the community. These days MMA is an equal level with both wrestling and boxing. Because of its growing popularity it now even has a pay per view. One must use mma gloves during their fights to be protected and to protect others players too. A lot of rules have been implemented in MMA when two players fight. Players must observe the rules concerning both weight and their equipment. Because MMA is a combat sport, other than gloves that every player wears there is no other equipment. For grappling players use gloves with finger holes in them. Another benefit of these gloves is that they can be used to protect your fist from any type of bruises when a player strikes his opponents. To prevent a player from breaking his hand a special tape is used to wrap it around the hand. There are different types of gloves concerning the weight that are used by players to fight another player in the ring. Some gloves are heavier and some are lighter. There are two categories of gloves concerning weights:

1. Four oz gloves are used during a fight by professional players.

2. The amateur players who have just started fighting have to wear gloves that are 6 oz (ounces) heavier. This is because as they are new to this sport and they have to protect their fists.

There have been many debates on the usage and the safety of gloves in fights. Heavy injury can be sustained when hitting on the head. It is a volition by a player to hit on the head in a MMA fight, whereas in boxing it is legal. Not only this is harmful for the other player but it may also cause damage to the striking player's hand. To avoid any kind of injury mma gloves are required. Researches that have been done on the gloves has revealed that big gloves are the actual cause of big injuries, whereas small gloves don't create big issues. Injuries through these gloves are mostly injuries to the brain or injuries to the eye. In the past boxers never hit to the face and the brain because they resulted in long term brain fracture, but it was avoided as the gloves were not introduced then.

There are two types of these gloves, 4oz gloves for highly professional fighters and 6oz gloves for amateur. To increase the protection and lesser the injuries 6oz are used by the amateurs. Amateurs must use these gloves while learning so that they don't get any kind of injury.
