Samba town is a more recent component to Rio de Janeiro's infrastructure and consumes a spot of around 114.000 square meters. Built by the City Hall, it is perfectly located at the bordering town of Gamboa. The reason for creating the city in Gambo had been that the area is considered to be revered, because this was the birthplace of Carioca samba. The city's architectural layout is geometric in form and comprises the districts of Saude, Santo Cristo and Gamboa. The thinking guiding the architecture is of accepting and recognizing the ancestral dance of Samba of which came from Africa.

Buzios Peninsula which was once a fishing town has now changed into a large tourism location. Previously, it was populated by European pirates and slaves but in time, the variety in its attractiveness captured the tourist's eye and turned a main tourism vacation destination with exclusive hotels, luxury properties, penthouse flats and a buzzing night life along with a range of eco-friendly life.

In Buzios, you can find about twenty beaches which encompass the peninsula and numerous locations that offers conveniences for aquatic sports such as windsurfing, scuba diving, snorkeling and sportfishing. An eighteen hole golf course, art galleries and night clubs decorate the alluring peninsula. Buzios can be arrived at by road from Rio de Janeiro Brazil via the Rio-Niteroi toll bridge or by bus via the Novo Rio Bus Station.

Fiscal Island, a part of the Guanabara Bay, is a little island which contains a small green fortress which had been once an essential location for the Brazilian empire. The citadel on the Fiscal Island is said to have hosted the very last Imperial ball in 1889. Its design was created by Adolfo del Vecchio and his awesome creativeness is visible in the form of carved stone work, superb mosaic work and ten various kinds of hard wood used for mosaics. This neo gothic castle can be visited 3x per week from Thursday to Sunday.

Situated nearby the Parque de Cidade, Moreira Salles is a cultural centre.
