Blue Willow China: Simply Refined

By Todd Alan

The blue willow china is an elaborate, distinctive and classy pattern designed in most ceramic housewares in china. The person behind this famous design is Thomas Minton. Since the day that he designed this pattern it's been used for more than 200 years. The background color that is utilized to make this type of design is always color white. On the other hand, the foreground color or colors wholly relies on what the maker wants to choose. Usually they might decide to use the color blue but other colors like brown, yellow, green and a lot more can also be used.

The exact origin or inspiration of the pattern is unknown. There are folks who say that this pattern originally came from England. It was said that Minton gained inspiration from an old Chinese design. Some folks say that the original work or design that he saw does not have any bridge with folks on it which caused doubts if the stories connected with it actually came from the country of England or China. There also are people who say that the story was originally from China and the Crusaders were the rationale that it reached England. As well as this debate on where it actually originated, there are several discussions on what the tale was really all about.

One of the versions of this story is the Chinese history. It is maintained that these plates are the discrete but simple way of the Hung Society to rebel against the widely recognized Manchu rulers which were considered as noxious tyrants. The folks who are concerned in this society honour their dead comrades by calling them martyrs. In connection, it was declared the Manchu rulers wrecked all the plates that were made by the Hungs. The plates was said to be smuggled to England and after a couple of years it eventually came back to china.

Another version is the Romantic Fable. In the Romantic Myth it was said that there where two lovers who are kept apart thanks to the difference of their social standing. When the girl was going to marry a Duke that her father chose she ran away with the guy that she loves to an island. Eventually, the duke found out where they where hiding and planned to take revenge but then the Gods were moved by the love that they exhibited and so they made the young lovers into doves.

Anther story is that of the Secret Shaolin Message. In the Secret Shaolin Message it was declared that these plates shows the tale of what has happened to a monastery of the Shaolins that were burned by Manchu rulers. The doves are the souls of these monks as they enter their immortal life.

No matter where these plates originally came from nothing would change the incontrovertible fact that the blue willow china are all simply lovely. It is undeniably a work of art that any artist would be happy with. It exudes the elegance in each complex design that's on it.
