Learning by yourself is possible, but the task is much quicker if you pay for guitar lessons. A guitar teacher can correct you on any bad habits you have a tendency towards. He can assess your tone and technique and give you feedback on the spot. An experienced teacher will know songs to assign you to practice to develop various skills. Even if you do not continue indefinitely with lessons, taking a fw lessons at the start will get you off to a great start. It is important to practice daily to perfect the guitar playing skills you need. The more you practice, the sooner you will be able to play whatever you wish to play.
