The size of the screen has remained the same at a pleasant 9.7 inches; however, the thickness of the second iPad has been reduced by 33% of the original size, which of course is a good thing. At just 600 grams, the iPad 2 is much lighter. That's much lighter. I've held both an iPad and an iPad 2 and I should state there is an obvious divergence in its feel. It would be a wrong supposition to believe that this thinner, lighter version does not run as well.
