Neptune Retrograde Returns

By Lou Raedwulfe

Once again, Neptune, also referred to as the Sea King, has turned retrograde as of June 3, 2011. Although it actually does not move backwards, it does appear to do so when viewed from Earth. This is going to pack a powerful punch over these next few months especially since is also in retrograde until the middle of Sept. the last time we witnessed the Sea King's backward motion through the heavens, we had the Gulf Oil Spill. I'm going to take a good look and explain the power of this heavenly event.

Neptune, the planet of dreams, fantasy, illusion and delusion, has long been recognized as controlling the sea, oil and gas deposits, steam and steam power, drugs and addiction, the desire to escape, mysticism of all kinds, mysteries and myths.

While all astrologers do not necessarily agree with the way this Neptune and Pluto retrogrades could effect the Earth's natural resources such as gas, oil and the sea, rest assured that one thing they do have in common is that this period could have a resounding effect similar to the Gulf Oil Spill or the events that recently hit Japan earlier this year.

While there are differing views of just how this Neptune and Pluto retrograde on people, they are in agreement that it will impact the Earth's resources such as oil and gas. It could have effects on dams, hurricanes, tornadoes, flooding and torrential weather. As far as people go, they may get a hefty dose of reality as the vail is removed during a Sea Kind retrograde. If you have been wanting change, be careful what you wish for!

The other school of thought is that, during a Neptune retrograde, the urge to lose ourselves in dreaming, fantasizing, and generally tuning out the ever increasing chaos of the modern world is almost overpowering. While such techniques as lucid dreaming can be beneficial in helping us find solutions to issues, the desire to escape by whatever means, including drugs and/or alcohol or other addictive behavior, can blind people to the very actions which are needed to try and right the proverbial ship.

Some of the things that most astrologers generally agree on is that during this time frame of negative retrogrades, we can expect deception, more scandal and lies in the news for those who seek power. Hurricane season could prove to be very destructive.

Above all, if you have been feeling that you are in a mental fog, take some small comfort that you are not alone. Part of the Sea King's impact heightens and features dream-like states which result in mental confusion and jumbled communications, particularly on a personal level. This could lead to misunderstandings and encounters which may well be "too good to be true".

Against all of this, the retrograde of Pluto in Capricorn continues to push for change on a global level. The Dark Lord's power to effect transformation through destruction will continue to be felt. The unrest in North Africa may well spread to other parts of the continent. The old order which many people seek to cling to, whether out of fear or uncertainty, will continue to crumble. Importantly, the world view of banking and finance may be drastically altered. This, too, may well result in a realignment and reassessment of who is and who isn't in charge.

Pluto turns direct in September. However, the impact of the next three months will be felt for years beyond the current reverse dance of the Dark Lord. Expect the unexpected and know that transformational changes are coming whether we're ready or not.

There has always been years in everyone's life that they remember such as Hurricane Katrina or the Gulf Oil Spill. This could be just one of those years that will go down in your own history as things you will never, ever forget.
