Buying a piano is a big investment. There are many important things to take into consideration when purchasing one and pianos Plano is a good place to start. Here, there are plenty of options to consider and lots of expert advice to help you make your decision.

If it is your first time buying or playing a piano it could be a good idea to take some lessons to check that it is definitely something you want to commit to. You could even rent your first piano to begin with or buy a cheaper digital instrument to start off on before you spend a lot of money.

Your next decision will be to work out what type of piano you would like. There are several options available including upright or grand pianos and also digital instruments. Digital ones are good for those that live in close proximity to their neighbors as the volume can be turned down or eliminated altogether by the use of headphones. A grand piano for most would be a dream come true however for those with a little less space and a more modest budget an upright piano could be the best option. Do not rule out a second hand piano as this could enable you to buy a much better quality instrument.

Before you go shopping for a new piano, spend some time considering where you would put it and make sure you take accurate measurements to ensure you have the space for it. Try to position the piano away from anything that will change the conditions in which the piano is kept, for example, the rooms heating system.

Search around for a reliable piano tuner. You will need to have an acoustic piano tuned on a regular basis. A tuner will also be able to offer you expert advice on maintaining your instrument to a high level so that it gives the best performance.

Once you have narrowed down your choice, you should then visit a showroom and get to grips with the varying tones that are available. Have a play and see which ones you like the sound of. If you are a new pianist it could be wise to take your teacher or another musician with you to give you their opinion.

A visit to pianos Plano will provide you with plenty of information to help you make you purchase. Your piano could be with you for years to come so get the best advice in order to get the right one for you.
